Race Day Instructions
2025
Information Desk - Number & Chip Pickup
The Information Desk will open at 8.30am and located 5 minutes walk from the Car Park in the Village Hall, where you will find the 'Number/Chip Pickup Desk'. Toilets are also within the Village Hall. The start is close to the Car Park however the finish is near the Village Hall. We will have plastic sheeting down to protect the floor within the Village Hall, however we would be grateful if you can limit the amount of mud you carry in by foot into the Hall after the race. Unfortunately due to livestock on some of the course the landowners had requested that no dogs accompany either walkers or runners during the event. Finally allow yourself plenty of time on the Saturday to park and collect your number.
The Course
The course has been measured with the aid of Sat Navs and the 8.5 - 9 mile distance is reasonably accurate. The course is mainly on farmer's tracks with some interlinking road sections. It will be marked with signs and fluorescent orange streamers attached to trees and hedgerows and there will be Marshals at various key locations. Several key distance markers will be located on the course to give you a rough idea of how far you have run / walked. If you have trail shoes I suggest you wear them, you can run in road shoes however some of the tracks are muddy so you might want to wear an old pair you don't mind getting muddy. If you intend carrying drink bottles or gels during the race then please drop them when used ideally at the water stations or near to signs that will be collected after the race, thank you.
Marshals & Drink Stations
Please follow any Marshals instructions given during the race particularly when approaching road junctions. If you have problems during the race, continue (if you can) to the next Marshal where we can seek assistance if required. There will be no lead car because of the terrain, however we will have an experienced runner from our Club running as a sweep from start to finish. There will be two Drink's Stations (water in plastic cups) around three and six miles approximately and at the finish.
